Are Americans Sharing Sacrifices For Afghan War? Military Families Respond -- PBS Newshour

As we mark the 10th anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan, the Pew Research Center commissioned a poll to explore the military-civilian gap in service, and how it has affected attitudes about war and sacrifice in the post-9/11 era.

The poll showed that both those who have served in the military and the civilian public feel proud of troops who are serving. But it also revealed that both groups don't think that the American public understands the problems that those in the military face.< [...]

Blaszczykowski could leave Dortmund

Poland international Jakub Blaszczykowkski is refusing to rule out leaving Borussia Dortmund if he continues to stagnate on the sidelines.
The 25-year-old midfielder played a key role in Dortmund's Bundesliga-winning campaign last term, making 37 appearances in all competition.
However, the improvement in many of Dortmund's youngsters has seen Blaszczykowski relegated to a reserve role this season.
With Euro 2012 on the horizon, Blaszczykowski, who captains Poland, one of the host nations of next summer's championships, admits he may consider leaving Dortmund should his current situation continue.

Japan Grounds F-15 Fighters After Fuel Tank Detaches In Midair -- Washington Post/AP

TOKYO — Japan has grounded its F-15 fighters for the second time in three months after a fuel tank and parts of a mock missile fell off a jet on a training mission, officials said Saturday.

Japan Air Self-Defense Force officials said that the flight suspension involves all missions except emergency scrambles and will last until the safety of Japan's 202 F-15 fighters has been confirmed.
