The funeral is planned for Tuesday 8th November 2011

The capital city of Assam, Guwahati has completed all arrangements for the funeral rites of Bard of Brahmaputra, Bhupen Hazarika. Music maestro passed away on Saturday (Nov 5) following prolonged illness. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since the past few days. He was 85.Massive arrangements are being made in Assam's main city of Guwahati for the funeral rites of music maestro Bhupen Hazarika who passed away in a Mumbai hospital Saturday.

According to sources, a Jet Airways flight carrying Hazarika's coffin will arrive at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati around 11:30 am on Monday (Nov 7).

Meanwhile, funeral rites of iconic singer-composer's is planned for Tuesday (Nov 8). Many organisations in the state called for a bandh on Tuesday in remembrance of Hazarika. However, official confirmation has not yet come.

Pakistan Rejects Reports Of Nuclear Insecurity -- Express Tribune/Reuters

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday dismissed an article in a US magazine that called it an "ally from hell" for Washington and raised questions about the safety of its nuclear arsenal and commitment to fighting militancy.

A statement from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs termed the cover story of The Atlantic's December 2011 issue "pure fiction, baseless and motivated."

"The surfacing of such campaigns is not something new. It is orchestrated by quarters that are inimical to Pakistan," the statement said.
